Finance Administrator
We are seeking a skilled Finance Administrator to handle tasks like direct debits, fixed asset management, and small entity accounting. Accuracy and 3-5 years of finance experience are essential.
Your Role at Argyll
As a Finance Administrator, you will be responsible for managing a variety of finance-related tasks, including direct debit processing, maintaining the fixed asset register, accounting and reporting for small entities, and other finance administration duties. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Debit Management:
- Download weekly failed direct debit reports
- Set up and manage client bank account mandates
- Update the debt collector’s portal with any relevant information
Fixed Asset Register:
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register
- Run monthly depreciation reports and ensure accuracy in asset tracking
Accounting and month-end reporting:
- Prepare accrual and prepayment journals for small entities
- Handle VAT returns and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurate and up to date
Finance Administration
- Maintain a tracker for HMRC letters and ensure timely responses
- Complete required surveys or statistical forms as required
- Provide general support to the finance department on any other administrative tasks
Experience and Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a finance-related role, preferably in bookkeeping or AAT qualification
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, experience with accruals, prepayments, VAT returns, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Familiarity with direct debit processes, maintaining fixed asset registers, and working with debt collection portals is highly desirable
- Ability to work with precision, ensuring accurate records and reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple responsibilities within tight deadlines
